Kansas City

My ex-wife and I traveled to Kansas City, a few hours drive from where I live. It was a fun trip despite the later collapse of the relationship. We went to Union Station, where they had a Titanic exhibit at the time. Old buildings, such as the Union Station, give a vast array of feelings. In one sense, stability and consistency as the building has been around forever and serves as a monument of human accomplishment. Almost like the warm embrace of a parent, a consistent figure that represents consistency and stability in many people’s life. In another sense, it activates the imagination – imagining normal bustle people would have been up to, as if to watch the past through a snow globe. We also went to the Crown Center, but sadly did not visit Lego Land. There was a live theater there and we attended a play there which was different for me and fun. I recall a trip to the casino as well, but not much else.
