Las Vegas
Las Vegas was full of things to do, and not just gambling. When I booked our vacation, I was able to book flight, hotel, and things to do all on Allegiant‘s site.

When we went there we were able to go visit Hoover Dam. It was one of the things I was able to pre-book. A great thing that happened when we got to the bus loading location for the trip. The tour company had booked a few limos in addition to the bus we were to take, but no one had signed up to use them. We were able to upgrade to an exclusive limo and we could make a stop before we made the trip – stopping to get some adult beverages, of course. We were then able to use the limo to make a stop on our way back to our hotel. One thing we could have done there was a helicopter ride over the city. That would have stretched us a little more than I wanted on money, so I decided not to book that and we never ended up doing it.
Among the other things we did, was attend a show with a magician. I haven’t been to many magician shows, but they are usually enjoyable and this was no different. The wax museum was interesting – I had not been to one before. The figures are ridiculously detailed. If you haven’t been to one, the detail will be beyond impressive. I was able to tolerate the High Roller, even though I am deathly scared of heights. We went on this the last day we were in Vegas, due to fly out the next morning. You can’t feel the thing moving up. You just see the change in height as the pod you are in goes up and up.

The show overhead at Freemont Street is amazing. There was a bus that was part of the Hop On Hop Off tours that did a night tour from the strip to Freemont Street. We also used the Hop On Hop Off bus during the day for a few times. It took us to the famous Welcome To Las Vegas sign. The sign is much smaller than they make it out to be. It still is really cool to see. The fountains at The Bellagio were spectacular – we only saw them one time but I was impressed. The show that time was to the tune of “In the Mood” by Glen Miller, one of my favorites by him. We had lunch one day at The Stratosphere. I had trouble with that one due to the height. Didn’t have to leave, but definitely was not particularly comfortable. That was probably the worst thing I can recall from the trip, so I call it a success. For our stay, we ended up lodging at The Cromwell, a small hotel along the strip beside The Linq.
